What you'll learn

On this programme you will be able to learn how to critically analyse sports organisations’ policies and practices within the dynamic sports business environment, empowering you to make evidence-based decisions. You will also be encouraged to develop as a reflective leader, capable of making a key contribution to support sustainable sports organisations.

In addition, you will gain insight from the University of Liverpool’s network of experts who are experienced in working with community-level, national and international sports organisations, in football, horse racing, rugby and many more.

Through this programme, you will:

  • Focus on management skills. The programme was developed in partnership with the University of Liverpool’s AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS accredited management school.
  • Take part in a collaborative and active learning approach. You will undertake authentic assessments, encouraging you to apply theory to practice and look at real-world issues, cultivating curiosity and creativity as well as a range of management skills.
  • Network with Liverpool’s global community. You will be able to gather insight and experience from our network of global sports experts in elite and grassroots sport including football, horse racing, cricket, and rugby.

This online programme is run by the Management School at the historic University of Liverpool, established in 1881 and one of the founding Russell Group members. We have offered online management degrees since 2001 and part of an elite group of worldwide institutes to be triple-accredited, holding AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA. Entry requirements

Applicants should have either:

  • A minimum of a 2:1 class degree in any subject, equivalent to a UK bachelor’s degree; or
  • Professional work experience in a related field and/or other prior qualifications will be considered on a case-by-case basis

All applicants must provide evidence that they have an English language ability equivalent to an IELTS (academic) score of 6.5.

If you don’t have an IELTS or equivalent certificate, you can take our free online English test to assess your proficiency.

Assessment

Assessment is exclusively through online assignments rather than examinations. You will be assessed through a range of activities, including written assignments, discussion forum participation and journal entries.

Full tuition fee – £15,300* (2022/2023 academic year)

Full tuition fee – £16,065* (2023/2024 academic year)

The tuition fee is fully inclusive of all costs: teaching materials, core textbooks, assessments and resits. If you live in England, you may be eligible for a postgraduate loan to cover some of the costs of your degree. If you are not eligible for a student loan, you will be offered a simple monthly payment plan to spread the cost of your tuition over the duration of your studies.
