Entry requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline at a level equivalent to a UK second-class Honours degree.
- For International applicants whose first language is not English, an IELTS score of 6.0 (with no less than 5.5 in any band), or equivalent
- The school will consider non-standard applicants who can demonstrate that they have relevant work experience over a period of 3 years via a Curriculum Vitae and/or LinkedIn profile.

- Bachelor’s degree (where applicable) at a level equivalent to a UK second-class Honours degree.
- A reference letter from a current or previous manager HR department or a person in a position of authority is required as supporting evidence.
- Personal identification documents e.g passport or I.D.
- A personal statement (approx. 3-500 words) and/or video presentation about why you want to study this programme.
- Proof of English Language Proficiency (POE) where applicable.

Subjects
The part-time Online MSc Psychology (Conversion) is 180 Credits and comprises of core modules followed by a final research project.
The aims of this module are to enable students to develop their capacity to design research by demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of appropriate quantitative methodologies.
Develop an in-depth understanding of, and a high level of skills in the use of, a range of statistical methods for analysing quantitative data.
Develop their capacity to communicate the findings of research to both academic and professional audiences. Obtain the underpinning theoretical knowledge and skills to undertake an original piece of psychological research.
The aims of this module are to enable students to become familiar with both quantitative and qualitative research methods used by psychologists.
Have in-depth knowledge of the principles that should inform the design of empirical investigations of psychological phenomena.
Identify the ethical considerations relevant to undertaking research with human participants.
Develop basic skills in the reporting of research findings according to accepted scientific and professional standards.
The aims of this module are to enable students to gain an introduction and a critical outlook to psychology by considering issues and topics from a historical and conceptual perspective.
The aims of this module are to enable students to gain a broad understanding of the historical background, knowledge base and terminology or discourse around introductory concepts within social psychology and consider how these may be applied in everyday contexts.
Gain an understanding of the research methods adopted within social psychology, the scope of the discipline, and key findings from influential studies within it.
The aims of this module are to enable students to gain detailed knowledge and critical understanding of the historical concept of personality and personality disorders, psychometrics, intelligence, cognitive styles, emotion and motivation.
Demonstrate a critical awareness of different ideas related to these areas, and recognise where the knowledge base is most/least secure.
The aims of this module are to enable students to be critically aware of the ways in which cognition can be studied from a biological perspective; have a comprehensive knowledge of types of brain cells and their means of communication, and the physical and functional neuroanatomy of the brain; critically evaluate current research topics such as lateralisation/specialisation and memory systems.
The aims of this module are to enable students to develop a critical understanding of the nature of several forms of mental health conditions. Evaluate the risk and protective factors of developing different mental health conditions.
Develop an advanced knowledge and understanding of major approaches used within forensic behavioural science viewed from a psychological perspective.
The module reviews basic issues and addresses current developments in developmental and cognitive psychology and develops students’ ability to critically review pertinent literature.
In developmental psychology, the emphasis is typically on early childhood development. cognitive psychology typically considers memory systems, reasoning, judgment and decision-making, and language.
The aims of this module are to enable students to undertake a substantial piece of independent research under supervision, drawing on psychological methodologies.
The module requires students to demonstrate their ability to retrieve information, design a research study, collect and analyse data, critically evaluate the study findings and draw appropriate conclusions. The research must be relevant to the discipline of psychology.
