Delivery

Learn the Oxford way with tutorial-style teaching. Your expert tutor will foster self-directed learning and critical thinking through interactive seminars in small groups (no bigger than 8).

During your course, you will complete two pieces of independent work (essays or problem sheets), which your tutor will then evaluate in either a 1:1 or 2:1 tutorial.

Tutorials will provide you with the opportunity to discuss your work and feedback with your tutor and learn new perspectives from your classmates.

On completion of the course, you’ll receive a certificate and letter of recommendation from your tutor.

Frequently asked questions

What’s included in the 18–24 programme?

It depends on the package you choose.‍

  • Non-Residential (day): tutorial-style classes (max 8 students), academic workshops, and subject-related excursions.
  • Plus (residential): everything in Non-Res plus accommodation, half-board meals (breakfast and dinner), evening events, and dedicated support from on-course staff.
  • Superior & Premier: everything in Plus with enhanced accommodation, additional support, upgraded insurance, and premium benefits — including concierge-style assistance (Premier) and more flexibility.

Are there different package options for ages 18–24?

Yes — there are four options: Non-Residential, Plus, Superior, and Premier.‍

Each tier includes the same academic experience but different levels of accommodation, meal plans, and support.

Who teaches the 18–24 courses?

Teaching is delivered by experienced academics and subject specialists. Classes follow an Oxford-style tutorial format — discussion-based, academically rigorous, and designed to help students develop higher-level thinking, analytical skills, and deeper subject expertise.

What’s the difference between the Oxford and Cambridge 18–24 programmes?

Oxford is open to all learners aged 18–24. Cambridge is more advanced and requires at least two years of undergraduate study in a related subject.

What recognition do 18–24 students receive at the end of the course?

Every learner receives a certificate of achievement, detailed written tutor feedback, and a Letter of Recommendation based on their engagement and academic performance — useful for university, postgraduate, or professional applications.

About Oxford Summer Courses

Oxford Summer Courses is an independent education provider offering small-group academic programmes for students aged 9–24. Founded by University of Oxford graduates, we design immersive learning experiences that encourage independent thought, intellectual curiosity, and confidence in one’s own ideas. Our courses are hosted in some of the UK’s most inspiring academic settings, including Oxford and Cambridge colleges and leading boarding schools. Teaching is delivered by expert tutors with strong academic backgrounds who are selected not only for their subject knowledge, but for their ability to guide discussion, challenge perspectives, and support students as individuals. What sets Oxford Summer Courses apart is our personalised approach. There is no fixed curriculum. Instead, tutors adapt seminars and tutorials to the interests, questions, and abilities of each group. Small class sizes allow students to explore ideas in depth, receive direct feedback, and develop their own way of thinking rather than simply learning what to think. Beyond the classroom, students become part of an inclusive international community. Cultural activities, shared meals, and collaborative learning help students form lasting friendships while gaining exposure to new perspectives from around the world. Pastoral care is central to our programmes, with dedicated staff ensuring students feel supported, safe, and able to make the most of their time on course. Oxford Summer Courses is accredited by the British Accreditation Council and is part of the Bridgemark Education group, reflecting our wider commitment to high-quality, ethical, and accessible education.
