Entry requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or cognate discipline at a level equivalent to a UK second-class Honours degree.
- For International applicants whose first language is not English, an IELTS score of 6.0 (with no less than 5.5 in any band), or equivalent
- The school will consider non-standard applicants who can demonstrate that they have relevant and appropriate work experience in Computing or cognate discipline area, fulfilling a graduate position, over a sustained period of time, which will typically be 4 to 5 years

- Bachelor’s degree (where applicable) at a level equivalent to a UK second-class Honours degree.
- A reference letter from a current or previous manager or HR department or person in a position of authority is required as supporting evidence.
- Personal identification documents e.g passport or I.D.
- A personal statement (approx. 3-500 words) and/or video presentation about why you want to study this programme.
- Proof of English Language Proficiency (POE) where applicable.

The aim of this module is to enable students to understand the underlying mechanisms of big data analytics. Be able to explore solutions to big data problems. Understand the legal and ethical issues in big data analytics.
The aims of this module are to enable students to make use of basic linear algebra and its relationship to data science.
Develop a deep and systematic understanding and a critical awareness of associated important issues in data science.
Apply the techniques of basic statistics and data analysis, using appropriate algorithms. Implement the aforementioned algorithms in appropriate programming language(s).
The aims of this module are to enable students to develop skills in the concepts, techniques and applications of data mining, and some of the systems for data mining.
This module is designed to enable students to select and apply data science and analytics techniques to practically investigate a particular problem. Furthermore, they will critically evaluate their own work.
This module also aims to enable students to demonstrate that they can work independently with minimum supervision, efficiently plan their work, and present the results in both written and oral form.
Students will also extend their knowledge by making effective use of the technical and scientific literature, and other relevant materials.
