Entry requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline at a level equivalent to a UK second-class Honours degree.
- For International applicants whose first language is not English, an IELTS score of 6.0 (with no less than 5.5 in any band), or equivalent
- The school will consider non-standard applicants who can demonstrate that they have relevant work experience over a period of 3 years via a Curriculum Vitae and/or LinkedIn profile.

- Bachelor’s degree (where applicable) at a level equivalent to a UK second-class Honours degree.
- A reference letter from a current or previous manager HR department or a person in a position of authority is required as supporting evidence.
- Personal identification documents e.g passport or I.D.
- A personal statement (approx. 3-500 words) and/or video presentation about why you want to study this programme.
- Proof of English Language Proficiency (POE) where applicable.
- POE exemption may be offered to students. Please speak to a Student Success Consultant to discover whether you are eligible for an exemption.

The part-time Online MSc Social and Organisational Psychology is 180 Credits and comprises of core modules followed by a final research project.
The aims of this module are to enable students to Critically apply psychological theories and approaches to the workplace and organisations.
Gain insight into the workplace context and how psychological approaches inform practice.
Consider organisations from a range of perspectives in a variety of contexts, and in light of future challenges.
Evidence-based practice is a key focus of this module – you will learn to evaluate research and practitioner evidence and reflect on how these inform interventions.
The aims of this module are to enable students to Critically consider the interplay of leadership, culture, and change in organisations.
Consider a variety of perspectives on leadership, conceptualisations of organisation culture, and approaches to manage change. Apply theories of leadership, culture, and change to case studies that illustrate the complexities and challenges in organisations.
Consider the impact of globalisation and the increased use of technology that provide ongoing challenges to organisations in terms of work design and cultural sensitivity.
Evidence-based practice is a key focus of this module – you will learn to evaluate research and practitioner evidence and reflect on how these inform interventions.
In this module, you will discuss how work contributes to individual stress, how that is measured and how it is evaluated. The role of emotions at work and emotional intelligence will be considered. You will be introduced to positive psychology and how it focuses on well-being as opposed to stress.
Well-being workplace interventions are discussed, and these are evaluated in terms of the evidence base and their efficacy.
The aims of this module are to enable students to develop their capacity to design research by demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of appropriate quantitative methodologies.
Develop an in-depth understanding of, and a high level of skills in the use of, a range of statistical methods for analysing quantitative data.
Develop their capacity to communicate the findings of research to both academic and professional audiences. Obtain the underpinning theoretical knowledge and skills to undertake an original piece of psychological research.
The aims of this module are to enable students to become familiar with both quantitative and qualitative research methods used by psychologists. Have in-depth knowledge of the principles that should inform the design of empirical investigations of psychological phenomena.
Identify the ethical considerations relevant to undertaking research with human participants. Develop basic skills in the reporting of research findings according to accepted scientific and professional standards.
The aims of this module are to enable students to gain an introduction and a critical outlook on psychology by considering issues and topics from a historical and conceptual perspective.
The aims of this module are to enable students to gain a broad understanding of the historical background, knowledge base and terminology or discourse around introductory concepts within social psychology and consider how these may be applied in everyday contexts.
Gain an understanding of the research methods adopted within social psychology, the scope of the discipline, and key findings from influential studies within it.
The aims of this module are to enable students to gain detailed knowledge and critical understanding of the historical concept of personality and personality disorders, psychometrics, intelligence, cognitive styles, emotion and motivation.
Demonstrate a critical awareness of different ideas related to these areas, and recognise where the knowledge base is most/least secure.
The aims of this module are to enable students to undertake a substantial piece of independent research under supervision, drawing on psychological methodologies.
The module requires students to demonstrate their ability to retrieve information, design a research study, collect and analyse data, critically evaluate the study findings and draw appropriate conclusions. The research must be relevant to the discipline of psychology.
