Entry requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in a literature or related subject area at a level equivalent to a UK second-class Honours degree.
- For International applicants whose first language is not English, an IELTS score of 6.0 (with no less than 5.5 in any band), or equivalent
- The school will consider non-standard applicants who can demonstrate that they have work experience for a period of 3 years via a Curriculum Vitae and/or LinkedIn profile.

The supporting documents for the programme are:
- Bachelor’s degree (where applicable) at a level equivalent to a UK second-class Honours degree.
- A reference letter from a current or previous manager HR department or a person in a position of authority is required as supporting evidence.
- Personal identification documents e.g passport or I.D.
- A personal statement (approx. 3-500 words) and/or video presentation about why you want to study this programme.
- Proof of English Language Proficiency (POE) where applicable.
- POE exemption may be offered to students. Please speak to a Student Success Consultant to discover whether you are eligible for an exemption.

The part-time Online MA Literature and Culture is 180 Credits and comprises of core modules followed by a final research project.
The aims of this module are to enable students to gain an understanding of the ways in which literature has explored, shaped and critiqued the relationship between human beings and their surroundings, from the eighteenth century to the present day.
The aims of this module are to enable students to understand the ways in which historical fiction responds to broader cultural and critical debates about the legacy of the past in global contexts. Students will gain specialised knowledge about the strategies used to represent and rework the past in a range of twentieth and twenty-first-century texts (literature, film, television)
The aims of this module are to enable students to gain an understanding of the relationship between literary and scientific thought. Further, develop an ability to contextualise and situate texts within their historical period. Develop an interdisciplinary approach to vampire studies. Learn to undertake comparative, creative, independent research at the Master’s level.
The aims of this module are to enable students to further develop and deploy advanced research skills via an extended piece of project work.
